The album gets a much-needed jolt of energy when Williams arrives on Tease, as guest vocalist and producer. bom, bom, bom, bom" - a simile that's more silly than seductive. The Wale-assisted Like a Drum gives off a brooding, bedroom vibe, until it reaches the chorus, "I'm gon' beat it like a drum.
The sultry R&B track mostly works, thanks to its infectious hook and a fun verse from Brown, although you can't help but cringe at groaners like "You mentally stimulate me / I'm really in love, that's crazy." Hollywood follows a loose narrative of a relationship, starting with longing on You Changed Me. But unfortunately, not even the most captivating co-stars can save Foxx from being upstaged by lackluster songwriting.
